Deena came to us at New Horizons House having been sexually abused by her stepfather. She grew up never knowing her biological father, but recently, she discovered his identity. Upon learning that he was in the hospital, suffering from kidney disease, Deena began visiting him regularly. These visits have been transformative, filled with open, honest conversations. For the first time, Deena is experiencing the profound depth of a loving relationship. Before coming to New Horizons House, she had never truly understood the power of trust, or how love, when given and received with compassion, could be so healing.
Through this journey of reconnecting with her father, Deena has found herself drawn to the world of hospitals—fascinated by how they operate and are managed. Inspired by this newfound passion, she has enrolled in the Hospital Management program at Browning College.
