A Season of New Beginnings in India
As the seasons begin to change, we are reminded of the beauty of new beginnings and of God’s faithfulness through every season. There are many exciting things happening in India, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share a few encouraging updates from New Horizons House.
One of the greatest reasons for celebration is the continued progress of our Transition Home. The building is coming along beautifully, and we are looking forward with great anticipation to a formal opening during the month of October.
This home represents much more than a building. It will be a place where young women can continue their journey toward independence, healing, and a hope-filled future. For girls who have experienced trafficking, sexual abuse, and unimaginable hardship, having a safe place to grow into adulthood can be life-changing. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who has prayed, given, encouraged, and helped make this vision possible.
Esther also recently had the opportunity to attend a conference focused on Gender Justice and Climate Justice, conducted by the Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs in partnership with its Gender Equity Committee. Women, along with several men, from seven Asian countries gathered together to learn, discuss, and share ideas. The small-group conversations encouraged active participation and provided an opportunity for people from different backgrounds and communities to learn from one another.
During the conference, Esther was able to share with new friends about the work God is doing through New Horizons House. She explained how NHH serves girls who have been rescued from human trafficking and sexual abuse, including the Safe House for girls ages 12–18 and the Transition Home for young women ages 19–21. She also shared about the holistic care being provided—including medical care, counseling, education, vocational training, and the loving support necessary to help each girl rebuild her life.
The response was incredibly encouraging. Several attendees expressed how impressed they were by the comprehensive approach to healing and restoration, and some even shared that they would love to visit New Horizons House in the future.
We continue to see new doors and opportunities opening for this ministry. Each new relationship, each conversation, and each step forward reminds us that God is at work in ways we may not always see in advance.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
— Isaiah 43:19
As we enter this new season, we are filled with gratitude and expectation. Thank you for continuing to stand with New Horizons House through your prayers, encouragement, generosity, and faithful support of this mission.
Because of your partnership, young women are being given more than shelter—they are being given an opportunity to heal, to discover their God-given worth, to develop new skills, and to step confidently toward a new future.
Please continue to pray for the completion and October opening of the Transition Home, for Esther and the entire NHH team, and most importantly, for each of the girls whose lives are being restored.
Together, we are seeing hope restored, lives transformed, and new beginnings made possible through the love of Christ.
With gratitude and blessings,
