As I sat on the second floor of the dormitory and looked out over the mango orchard below with one of our Board members, I was filled with gratitude for those who have journeyed with us these past 4 years. That evening, I was asked to share a few thoughts with the dozens of local leaders and dignitaries who were present to support us. In my remarks, I included 2 of my favorite quotes that I want to share with you as well:
"Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” – Robert F. Kennedy
"We must be the change we wish to see in the world." – Mahatma Gandhi
You are responsible for the change that is happening, and I thank you for it.
Meanwhile, construction of the kitchen / admin building is scheduled to be completed in May and we will then be in a position to obtain final government licensing. The first girls should be arriving in late summer. Your continued partnership enables us to provide hope to those who have none.
