Dear Friends of New Horizons House,

The Aspen leaves are beginning to turn a lovely yellow color on the mountain sides here in Colorado, and the world is looking lovely for most of us.

Unfortunately this is not the case with thousands of young girls in India. We met an 11 or 12 year old (she wasn’t sure), who had been locked in a windowless room, where she hadn’t seen a tree for almost three years, as she was kept alive to be repeatedly sexually abused. It hurts to use the word “fortunate”…but she is one of the “fortunate” girls to find care and housing in the few rehabilitation facilities in India. Most are not so “fortunate”. Most of the rescued or escaped girls have no place to go and no education…they end up on the streets or recaptured and returned to sexual slavery…only in this context can we apply the word “fortunate” to this child of God.

The lovely Aspen trees go through a cold winter period, but they bud out and flourish in the spring. This is our mission, to offer hope and prepare these children to flourish in the spring to come.

How can you help? In many ways (see ), but our most urgent need at this time is funding to construct dorm #1. Through your generous support we own the land outright and have about 10% of the funds required for the initial dorm. The property is being cleared and a security fence will be going up shortly. This first dorm will bring a season of hope, to 20 young girls. If your circumstances permit, please consider a tax deductible donation to assure that 16 children will bloom with new hope and a new life.

In our next newsletter we will bring you an update on the October 4th Justice Run here in Denver at Hudson Gardens. We hope to raise another 10% of the cost of the first dorm at this event. It isn’t too late to sponsor New Horizons House for this event ( The registration deadline is October 2, so sign up soon!

With your help, we can offer security, housing, rehabilitative counseling, physical and emotional care, education, vocational training, concluding with re-introduction into society with employable/life skills.

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support, and may God bless you,

Mike Graves
